Net Protections, Inc. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shin Shibata; “Net Protections”) and Iyo Bank, Ltd. (headquartered in Matsuyama-shi, Ehime; CEO: Kenji Miyoshi; “Iyo Bank”) have signed a memorandum of understanding on comprehensive business alliance to help Iyo Bank’s corporate customers solve their management issues by utilizing Net Protections’ BNPL services, thereby contributing to regional revitalization in cooperation with each other. Under this alliance, Net Protections starts business matching in the field of BNPL services for Iyo Bank’s corporate customers.

Background and purpose of the partnership

In order to achieve the long-term vision to be a “corporate group continuing to create and provide new value” under the FY2021 Medium-term Management Plan, Iyo Bank is making group-wide efforts to solve issues of the local communities and customers.
It is possible to achieve operational efficiency and support the growth of new companies through introducing BNPL services into Iyo Bank’s corporate customers. Starting April 2022, business matching will start in four services: NP Atobarai, BtoC E-Commerce BNPL payment service; atone, BtoC BNPL payment service with membership benefits; NP Atobarai air, BtoC BNPL payment service for day-to-day services; and NP Kakebarai, BNPL payment service for BtoB.
The initiatives under the alliance are expected to streamline the billing process and improve productivity of Iyo Bank’s corporate customers through digitally transforming their operations. Furthermore, Iyo Bank can utilize it as its customers’ business management support such as sales increase. It may also serve as one of the effective alternatives to the full digitalization of negotiable instruments and checks as a goal of 2026.
To help develop and contribute to the local communities under the slogan “Iyo Bank’s Declaration on SDGs” by Iyo Bank, Net Protections will continue seeking collaborative opportunities under the strong partnership to fulfill the mission to “Create New Standard.”

Net Protections is a pioneer company in BNPL payment services in Japan and leading the market with top market share(※1). In 2002, Net Protections (NP) released NP Atobarai, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment service that guarantees risk free payment for merchants in Japan for the first time.
