Background behind provision of NP Kakebarai on Shopify

In a recent survey conducted by Net Protections*1, a remarkable 89.5% of Japanese companies responded that they use invoice payments as the main payment method for BtoB transactions, demonstrating that invoice payments remain an important option for BtoB payments in Japan.
Shopify is a Canada-based commerce platform used in 175 countries around the world. But until now, the platform did not provide invoice payments, despite their important role in Japanese BtoB business practices. As such, there was a growing demand among Japanese merchants for a BtoB payment method tailored to local business customs.
It was against this backdrop that Shopify is introducing NP Kakebarai to its app store as its first Japanese BtoB payment function, with the aim of making commerce better for everyone and providing a superior shopping experience for consumers everywhere.

By introducing NP Kakebarai from Net Protections to our lineup of payment apps on Shopify, I believe we will be able to provide Japanese e-commerce operators and invoice payment users with an experience that is more closely aligned with local business practices.
