Net Protections, Inc. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shin Shibata; "Net Protections”) has introduced NP Atobarai air, a BtoC Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) service for on-site services to Seibii, a mobile automobile mechanics service provided by Seibii, Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yu Sagawa, “Seibii”).
Background to the Adoption of NP Atobarai air
With the mission of ‘creating a new story of people and mobility,’ Seibii is a nationwide mobile automobile mechanics service, which everything from consultation to service request and payment is completed online.
Seibii has received many comments indicating a preference to make payment upon service completion. Automotive services are expensive, and many first-time customers are hesitant to make large payments online. The company is introducing NP Atobarai air to offer new payment options alongside the existing credit card payment and wire transfer, improving customer convenience and the trust they have in its services.
Comments from Noriaki Akao, the Business Development Division of Seibii
When customers use Seibii for the first time, they may feel insecure about payment. We believe BNPL will contribute to improving customer trust. In fact, there have been cases we ask customers for additional payment after providing the service, so we felt a bit of a challenge for customer satisfaction. We knew that there were demands for BNPL from surveys and inquiries, but there have been many tasks to overcome to introduce. With NP Atobarai air, we expect to not only be able to meet customer needs, but also eliminate the hassle of having to make additional payments after payment. We also expect NP Atobarai air will significantly improve customer experience.
With the introduction of NP Atobarai air, the customer experience and the trust in the service are expected to greatly improve, and the accounting work such as account confirmation that occurred in the existing wire transfer operation is also expected to be streamlined. We also expect NP Atobarai air to contribute to the automotive aftermarket industry by improving customer experience regarding payment and increasing the productivity of service providers’ accounting operations.
