Behind the growth of NP Kakebarai

NP Kakebarai’s cumulative transaction volume surpassed JPY 350 billion in April 2022, 11 years after the service was launched in 2011. As of March 31, 2021, 460,000 companies, or one out of every eight companies in Japan, use the service annually.*2 The reasons behind the increased use of the service include the spread of digital transformation and accelerating work style reforms, in addition to revisions to the Law Concerning Preservation of National Tax Records and the need to prepare for a new invoicing system. NP Kakebarai has responded to these societal changes by providing a solution to the entire BtoB payment process, including credit checks, invoicing, payment collection, and non-payment risk guarantees, allowing it to provide customers with greater value and experience rapid growth. Another factor behind the increased usage of NP Kakebarai lies in the various collaborations with CRM platform providers and financial companies*3 which have enabled NP to support BtoB transaction-related digital transformation that is not limited to the domain of payments.

Effective digital transformation in BtoB payment operations

The BtoB payment process includes various components including credit checks, invoicing, payment confirmation, and reminders in case of late or uncollected payments. According to Net Protections’ surveys,*4 professionals involved in sales and management spend approximately 20 business days per year on billing-related tasks. When asked about their job satisfaction, 70% of accountants say they “would like to be involved in creating more value than they currently do.” By undertaking the entire payment process for corporate customers, NP Kakebarai creates an environment in which customers can concentrate on their primary focal points of management, planning, and customer service, thereby supporting the promotion of business operations.
