Net Protections, Inc. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shin Shibata; “Net Protections”) and North Pacific Bank, Ltd. (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Sapporo; CEO: Mitsuharu Yasuda; “North Pacific Bank”) have entered into a business matching basic agreement to support North Pacific Bank’s corporate customers in resolving business issues, and will begin business matching using Net Protections’ BNPL service for North Pacific Bank’s corporate customers.

Background and purpose of the partnership

In April 2020, North Pacific Bank announced a medium-term business plan entitled “Deepening Co-Creation, Aiming to be Our Customers’ and the Region’s Most Trusted Partner.” The plan is centered on further improving customer satisfaction and maximizing value by becoming a more familiar presence and considering customers more deeply, as well as leveraging the group’s total capabilities to provide consulting and the best services and solutions. Net Protections’ BNPL services enable North Pacific Bank customers to improve billing process efficiency and productivity by digitally transforming the payment and billing operations. Moreover, the BNPL services can be used to increase customers’ sales and promote management support. With this agreement, business matching will start in four services: NP Atobarai, BtoC e-commerce BNPL service; atone, BtoC cardless BNPL service; NP Atobarai air, BtoC BNPL service for on-site services; and NP Kakebarai, BNPL service for BtoB. To help North Pacific Bank achieve its “Deepening Co-Creation” plan and, by extension, support the sustainability of the region, Net Protections will consider opportunities for further collaboration under a strong partnership going forward to realize our company’s goal of “creating a society where anyone can safely and smoothly engage in commercial transactions through BNPL payment services.”
